WordPress Installation & Baseline Setup

Prepared by
Jeffrey Thomas Baygents
documenting WordPress and Bricks Builder workflows.

The WordPress Setup phase establishes a clean, secure, and repeatable WordPress application baseline after planning is complete.

All downstream workflows assume WordPress is installed, configured, and locked according to the standards defined in this section.

Purpose of the WordPress Setup Phase

WordPress Setup focuses on preparing the application itself before any builder configuration, site structure, or content work begins.

  • Establish a predictable WordPress baseline
  • Reduce configuration errors and drift
  • Ensure security, stability, and repeatability
  • Create a known starting point for all downstream phases

Scope Boundary

This phase covers:

  • WordPress installation and core settings
  • User roles and baseline security configuration
  • Required plugin installation baselines
  • Theme and builder installation preparation

This phase does not cover:

  • Server provisioning or operating system configuration
  • Hosting‑level services or infrastructure tuning
  • Page builder configuration or layout decisions
  • Content creation or design work

How to Use This Section

This section is executed in a fixed order. Each checklist builds on a clean WordPress state established by the previous step.

Do not skip ahead or reorder steps. Changes after this phase should be deliberate and documented.
